Questions and Answers about Adoption

What is adoption?
    -"Adoption is the legal and permanent transfer of all parental rights, under the law, to one person or couple from another person or couple."
    -"Adoption brings a child born to other parents into a new family."
Is adoption a good option?
    -"Adoption benefits everyone in the adoption triad." (the birthparents, the adoptive parents, and the child)
    -It brings a positive ending to a challenging situation.
What are some of the benefits to the child being adopted?
    -"The love and support of adoptive parents who are emotionally and financially ready to parent"
    -"A greater probability of good educational resources"
    -Possibility of having a sibling in the new home
What different settings do adoptive children come from?
    -"Children who are eligible for adoption come from many different settings. Some are in foster care, a temporary home setting. Other children live in orphanages or with birth relatives until they can be adopted."
